In short

Which to choose

Choose VN if you love editing

You enjoy building a video by hand: layers, masks, keyframes, music, transitions and effects. You need a horizontal or square format, or want to edit on a computer or on Android right now. VN gives you full control over every frame.

Choose Dubl if you just want to talk

You film talking-head videos and don't want to sit over a timeline. Record each line a few times — AI picks the best take, cuts the pauses, adds captions and assembles a vertical video. It orders the lines by meaning; your job is choosing takes.

The core difference: who does the editing

VN Video Editor is a full-featured editor. You lay clips out on tracks, move cuts, set keyframes and masks, pick music and transitions. The result is up to you, and you have complete control.

Dubl works the other way around: you don't edit at all. Record each line in a few takes, and AI transcribes your speech, groups takes by line, picks the best ones and cuts the pauses. You just check the picks and the order of lines — then save the video.

Where VN is stronger

If your video is more than someone talking to the camera, VN offers a lot more:

  • a multi-track timeline with keyframes, masks and fine zoom;
  • music, sound effects, transitions, filters and templates;
  • text-to-speech and cutout;
  • export in multiple aspect ratios, up to 4K;
  • apps for iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows.

Dubl has none of this, and we won't pretend it does.

Who each app suits

  • VN — people who enjoy editing as a craft: vlogs, videos with music and transitions, complex cuts, horizontal videos, editing on a computer.
  • Dubl — experts, teachers, Reels and Shorts creators who talk to the camera and want to post more often, not edit longer.

What the workflow looks like

In VN: film, open a project, find the good parts on the timeline, cut, remove pauses and slips, add captions, adjust them, lay music on top, export. Flexible, but a talking-head video takes real time.

In Dubl: record lines with the teleprompter or pick videos from your gallery, wait for the transcript, check the starred takes and the order of lines, tap away any extra word if you like — and save a vertical video with captions.

Better together

How to use both

Assemble the talking part in Dubl: best takes, no pauses, with captions. Save the video to your gallery, open it in VN and add music, transitions and effects. The tedious part of editing is done for you, and the creative part stays yours.

VN is a trademark of its owner. Dubl is not affiliated with it. This comparison is based on public information from the apps’ official pages as of the date checked; app features change over time.
